Bismillāhir Rahmānir Rahīm
All praise belongs to the One who raised the stars over tyrants
And lit the hearts of the oppressed with the lamps of guidance.
Peace be upon Muhammad and his pure progeny —
The ones who carried the banner of truth through every storm.
Today, we gather in remembrance, not of war or martyrdom,
But of a birth — the quiet arrival of a giant cloaked in silence.
The 8th of Rabiʿ al-Thani brought to Medina a son of light:
Hasan ibn Ali, al-Askari — the eleventh star in the firmament of Wilayah.
“In the Shadow of Samarra”
He was not born to rule empires,
Nor did he wear the garlands of worldly crowns.
But his name struck fear into palaces,
And his sujūd lit fires in the cold hearts of kings.
The Abbasid halls whispered of a coming child —
A descendant of Fatima (AS),
Whose son would vanish, yet rise,
Who would be hidden, yet guide the world.
So they caged the father in Samarra,
A soldier among soldiers — Askari,
Surrounded by swords, yet never pierced.
Surrounded by walls, yet never contained.
“Lessons from the Eleventh Imam”
O believers! The life of Imam Hasan al-Askari (AS) is not just history —
It is a blueprint for survival in silence,
A lesson in how to lead when you are watched, followed, and forbidden.
He taught with glances, guided with letters,
Raised scholars without a classroom,
Protected the Mahdi without revealing a trace.
He said:
“The hearts of the blind are more astray than the sightless eyes.”
Let your eyes weep, yes — but let your heart see.
“Worship is not just in prayer — but in deep reflection.”
Let your tongue recite, yes — but let your soul awaken.
“Avoid disputation, avoid envy, avoid arrogance.”
Let your voice speak, yes — but let your ego remain silent.
And he reminded us:
“Be among the ones whom Allah blesses — the humble, the truthful, the just.”
“The Prisoners Who Were Freed”
Yes, they sent him to cells,
Chose guards who were cruel,
Hoping to extinguish the fire in his eyes.
But they did not know —
That light is not afraid of darkness.
Those very guards became his students,
Their hands lifted in duʿā’,
Their hearts trembling in awe,
Saying: “He is not from this world.”
How do you imprison a man whose soul flies with the angels?
“A Birth That Prepared for Occultation”
O lovers of Ahl al-Bayt!
From this house of chains came the hope of all times.
For in the final years of his life,
Imam Hasan al‑Askari (AS) nurtured a secret,
A son — Muhammad al-Mahdi (AJ) —
The Imam who would go into occultation,
Whose return we await with hearts burning and eyes longing.
The Abbasids tried to erase him,
But what Allah has protected cannot be harmed.
“Even in Death, He Was Watched”
He was only 28 when they poisoned him,
Afraid not of what he had done —
But of what he represented.
He was buried in Samarra, next to his father,
And his grave became a sanctuary —
A symbol of the silenced truth and the hidden Imam.
And today, pilgrims walk barefoot to his resting place,
Weeping not only for his pain,
But for the pain of waiting —
Waiting for the dawn he promised through his son.
Ziyārah of Imam Hasan al-Askari (AS)
Let us now raise our hands and hearts,
And send our salām to this radiant Imam:
Peace be upon you, O inheritor of the light of Muhammad.
Peace be upon you, O son of Ali and descendant of Zahra.
Peace be upon you, O Hasan al-Askari, the pure, the steadfast.
Peace be upon the prostrations that shook the heavens.
Peace be upon the patience that defied kings.
Peace be upon your silence — louder than any throne.
Peace be upon your son, the Awaited One, the Hidden Guide.
May Allah hasten his reappearance, and include us among his helpers.
And may our lives be shadows to your light,
And our deaths be in your love,
O Imam of Samarra, O lamp in the dungeon, O witness of God.
O Allah! By the birth of this noble Imam,
Cleanse our hearts of arrogance.
Strengthen our resolve under oppression.
Teach us to serve in silence,
To love with loyalty,
And to wait — not passively, but actively — for justice.
Ya Allah, make our love for Hasan al-Askari (AS)
A shield on the Day of Reckoning,
And make us worthy of his son,
The Light of the End of Time.
Wa al-ḥamdu lillāhi Rabbil ʿālamīn.
