Arbaeen: Renewing Our Pledge to the Awaited Savior
From the Sands of Karbala to the Hopes of Tomorrow — Standing Firm on the Covenant of Ashura
Today, hearts from every corner of the world turn toward Karbala. Millions remember Husayn ibn Ali (AS), the lantern of guidance and the ark of salvation. The air is heavy with grief, love, and the unshakable spirit of loyalty.
Yet, how can one remember Husayn (AS) without also remembering his son — the Imam of our Time (AJ)? How can we weep for the Master of Martyrs, but not renew our covenant with the One who carries the mission of Karbala into the final chapter of history?
On Arbaeen, we renew our pledge of allegiance to our Master, Imam Mahdi (AJ). This is not a pledge born of fleeting emotion, but a conscious commitment — rooted in awareness, sustained by knowledge, and anchored in the depths of the heart. It is a pledge that declares: We are still here. We remain steadfast on the covenant of Ashura, standing with awakened hearts, clear vision, and unwavering steps.
We say:
O son of Fatimah! We are ready…
Ready to aid the heir of Husayn’s blood.
Ready to uphold the vow we have made on Arbaeen — with tears and understanding — every day of the year.
Today, Arbaeen is not only the day of remembrance, but the day of renewal — a renewal of allegiance to Truth, to Justice, and to the Imam who will fill the earth with fairness after it has been filled with oppression.
The Unrest of Husayn’s Blood
Arbaeen is a manifestation of the fact that Imam Husayn’s (AS) blood has not yet found peace.
Not with the end of Ashura.
Not with the burial of the bodies.
Not with the cries of the orphans or the moans of the women.
That blood is still boiling — still searching for justice and crying out for its rightful end. Arbaeen is the voice of that blood. It is the loud call of that thirst, that sorrow, and that eternal uprising.
In Arbaeen, we are not merely pilgrims walking a historical route. We are not spectators to a scene that ended over thirteen centuries ago.
We are the continuation of that scene. We are Ashura.
We have come to say:
O Husayn! Your blood runs in our veins.
We are standing so that your mission reaches its destined victory.
The purpose of Arbaeen is not to simply send crowds into the desert. It is to remind us that as long as injustice exists, Ashura still continues.
We are the carriers of that agitated blood — not through slogans alone, but through movement, action, and steps that engrave our loyalty into the soil of Karbala. Our gaze looks beyond the dust and the horizon, seeking the final flag — the banner of Imam Mahdi (AJ).
This is the truth of Arbaeen: the living proof that Husayn’s blood has not yet rested. It manifests in the bodies and souls of a generation awaiting the rise of the Imam of our Time (AJ).
O Mahdi, heir of Karbala’s cry,
In your name, our souls will rise or die.
Through every tear, through every chain,
We wait for you in joy and pain.
Till justice blooms, we pledge — we’ll never shy.
