Gentle leader, friend of the oppressed,
Memories with Imam Khomeini,
You followed and were blessed,
Patience was your path,
Tribulation you bore.

Light of the innocent,
Children touched your face,
Your smile raised our spirits,
Your words did we embrace.

May God accept your struggles,
For the faith you fought to preserve,
May God honour your sacrifice,
May your people celebrate your worth.

Words cannot do justice,
Tears cannot express,
Our love and our loss
In this wilderness
Of separation.

Pray for us there,
With the saints of holiness
Ask Him to forgive us
And deliver us from despair

Friend everlasting
Your Holiness is rare.
