This supplication, famously known as the "Universal Prayer," shifts the focus of the fasting person from the self to the collective needs of humanity. It is a comprehensive petition that asks Allah to touch every corner of human suffering—seeking peace for the departed, wealth for the poor, food for the hungry, and freedom for the oppressed. By reciting these words, the believer internalises the social spirit of Ramadan, acknowledging that true spiritual success is inextricably linked to the well-being and dignity of all people.
Arabic:
اَللَّهُمَّ أَدْخِلْ عَلَىٰ أَهْلِ الْقُبُورِ السُّرُورَ، اَللَّهُمَّ أَغْنِ كُلَّ فَقِيرٍ، اَللَّهُمَّ أَشْبِعْ كُلَّ جَائِعٍ، اَللَّهُمَّ اكْسُ كُلَّ عُرْيَانٍ، اَللَّهُمَّ اقْضِ دَيْنَ كُلِّ مَدِينٍ، اَللَّهُمَّ فَرِّجْ عَنْ كُلِّ مَكْرُوبٍ، اَللَّهُمَّ رُدَّ كُلَّ غَرِيبٍ، اَللَّهُمَّ فُكَّ كُلَّ أَسِيرٍ، اَللَّهُمَّ أَصْلِحْ كُلَّ فَاسِدٍ مِنْ أُمُورِ الْمُسْلِمِينَ، اَللَّهُمَّ اشْفِ كُلَّ مَرِيضٍ، اَللَّهُمَّ سُدَّ فَقْرَنَا بِغِنَاكَ، اَللَّهُمَّ غَيِّرْ سُوءَ حَالِنَا بِحُسْنِ حَالِكَ، اَللَّهُمَّ اقْضِ عَنَّا الدَّيْنَ وَأَغْنِنَا مِنَ الْفَقْرِ، إِنَّكَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ.
Transliteration:
Allahumma adkhil ‘ala ahlil-quburis-surur. Allahumma aghni kulla faqir. Allahumma ashbi’ kulla ja’i’. Allahummak-su kulla ‘uryan. Allahummaq-di dayna kulli madin. Allahumma farrij ‘an kulli makrub. Allahumma rudda kulla gharib. Allahumma fukka kulla asir. Allahumma aslih kulla fasidim-min umuril-Muslimin. Allahummash-fi kulla marid. Allahumma sudda faqrana bi-ghinak. Allahumma ghayyir su’a halina bi-husni halik. Allahummaq-di ‘annad-dayna wa aghnina minal-faqr. Innaka ‘ala kulli shay’in Qadir.
Translation:
O Allah, grant happiness to the people of the graves. O Allah, enrich every poor person. O Allah, satisfy every hungry person. O Allah, clothe every naked person. O Allah, help every debtor pay his debt. O Allah, relieve every distressed person. O Allah, return every traveller home. O Allah, release every prisoner. O Allah, rectify every corruption in the affairs of Muslims. O Allah, cure every sick person. O Allah, block our poverty with Your wealth. O Allah, change our bad state to a good one through Your Excellent State. O Allah, pay our debts and free us from poverty. Surely, You have power over all things.
