The Heart of Compassion
This dua moves from the "self" to the "other." It asks for the heart to be filled with mercy for orphans, the desire to feed the hungry, and the habit of spreading peace (Salam).
Arabic:
اَللّـهُمَّ ارْزُقْني فيهِ رَحْمَةَ الاَْيْتامِ، وَاِطْعامَ اَلطَّعامِ، وَاِفْشاءَ السَّلامِ، وَصُحْبَةَ الْكِرامِ، بِطَوْلِكَ يا مَلْجَاَ الاْمِلينَ.
Transliteration:
Allahummar-zuqni fihi rahmatal-aytam, wa it'amat-ta'am, wa ifsha'as-salam, wa suhbatal-kiram, bitawlika ya Malja'al-amilin.
Translation:
O Allah, on this day, let me have mercy on the orphans, and feed the hungry, and spread peace, and keep company with the noble-minded, O the shelter of the hopeful.
