The Gift of Intellect
This dua asks for "Adh-Dhihna wat-Tanbih"—intellect and alertness. It is a prayer to distinguish between truth and falsehood and to be saved from "Safahati," the foolishness that wastes time.
Transliteration:
Allahummar-zuqni fihidh-dhihna wat-tanbih, wa ba'idni fihi minas-safahati wat-tamwih, waj'al li nasiban min kulli khayrin tunzilu fih, bijudika ya Ajwadal-ajwadin.
Translation:
O Allah, on this day, grant me intellect and alertness, and keep me away from foolishness and pretension, grant me a share in every blessing You send down during it, by Your generosity, O the most Generous.
