The Company of the Righteous
Who we spend time with shapes who we become. This dua asks for the "compatibility" with the good and the distance from the wicked. It looks forward to the "Dar al-Qarar" (the Abode of Rest), the ultimate home of the soul.
Arabic:
اَللّـهُمَّ وَفِّقْني فيهِ لِمُوافَقَةِ الاَْبْرارِ، وَجَنِّبْني فيهِ مُرافَقَةَ الاَْشْرارِ، وَآوِني فيهِ بِرَحْمَتِكَ اِلى دارِ الْقَرارِ، بِاِلهِيَّتِكَ يا اِلـهَ الْعالَمينَ.
Transliteration:
Allahumma waffiqni fihi limuwafaqatil-abrar, wa jannibni fihi murafaqatal-ashrar, wa awini fihi birahmatika ila daril-qarar, bi-ilahiyyatika ya Ilahal-'alamin.
Translation:
O Allah, on this day, grant me compatibility with the good, keep me away from accompanying the wicked, and admit me in it, by Your mercy, to the Abode of Rest, by Your divinity, O the God of the worlds.
