The Tested Heart
This is one of the most psychological duas. We ask God to "test" our hearts with Taqwa (piety). It acknowledges that true faith isn't just a feeling; it’s a muscle that is strengthened through purification from defects.
Transliteration:
Allahummagh-silni fihi minadh-dhunub, wa tahhirni fihi minal-'uyub, wamtahin qalbi fihi bitaqwal-qulub, ya Muqila 'atharatil-mudhnibin.
Translation:
O Allah, on this day, wash away my sins, purify me from all defects, test my heart with the piety of hearts, O the One who overlooks the lapses of the sinners.
